- FS#55 - Request: Download totals in History Dialog Expand Collapse

As your program nicely records everything in the history, it would be great if once you pick a time period (or “All downloads”), somewhere it displays the total (mb and number of files) of all the files in the list.
Thank you,Chris
- FS#1066 - Play sound after link download Expand Collapse
-
FRD should play any sound when a link (one) is downloaded (not all of them).
- FS#1124 - Customise Audio and Visual Alerts when program required User inp Expand Collapse
-
At the moment the program makes a very muted buzzing sound when it requires user attention (such as to type in a CAPTCHA answer). It is very easy to miss it. I suggest two ways to address this issue:
1. Allow the user to specify a certain sound file to play when the program needs attention. Maybe include some example files with varying salience (ie loudness or high pitch) and length, and or repetition (ie. if no action is taken, repeat the sound after 30 sec). Include the option so that as soon as the user gives FreeRapid the attention it needs, the alert sound will stop automatically.
2. Have a visual alert as well. FreeRapid has an icon in the application bar (near the clock), so it could pop up a Balloon Message to tell the user the program needs attention. Maybe put an option, if the user chooses, FreeRapid can grab focus (ie maximise itself and interrupt the user) when it needs attention.
Also, sometimes the user cannot know how long ago the hosting site made the CAPTCHA request, so it would be good to have a small timer, so the user can know if there is any point in answering the CAPTCHA question. Ideally, a 'refresh' button would allow the user to request a new CAPTCHA code.
Thanks
Elia
- FS#1228 - Alarm sound when FreeRapid needs attention, customisable alarm s Expand Collapse
-
FreeRapid sometimes needs some user attention, especially to enter the CAPTCHA codes. At least in my case (v0.82 on Xp Sp3), FreeRapid fails to get my attention so by the time I manually Alt-Tab to FreeRapid, the CAPTCHA code request has expired. I know FreeRapid has a built-in 'buzz' sound, but it really is very soft and hard to notice.
There are a number of ways to get user attention:
1. Have a more noticeable alarm sound whenever the program needs user attention. Ideally the user could customise what sound sound (ie specify an MP3 or WAV of their choice) and the volume that it should play.
2. A visual alert like an information "balloon" that comes out of the taskbar icon (similar to the XP warning balloon that your antivirus is out of date or your windows is not genuine) or like the Skype messages that pop up to tell you when a friend has come online.
- FS#1237 - Shutdown after Current Download has finished Expand Collapse
-
Thank you for this great software!
I'd like to have the feature "Shutdown after Current Download has finished"
When I have finished doing stuff at my computer I like to shut it down. When a Rapid-Download is still running, I stop all other downloads and use "Shutdown after downloads finished", so the current download finishes and then the computer is shut down.
But next time FreeRapid starts I haver to start the paused downloads manually.
It would be nice if you can choose "Shutdown after Current Download has finished", then next time I start the computer the other downloads start again and so on. So the computer is not running much idle time while Rapid forces it to wait.
I hope you understand what I mean, my english is not so good.
Thanks in advance.

- FS#1280 - fatal error when directory is missing Expand Collapse
-
Just to report a bug.
If you are download files and delete the directory where the files have to be download, the program will encounter a bug.
It's obvious that something have to happen but instead of re-creating the directory a pop-up appears and says something like that "fatal error encounter, you may restart the application to this one work properly". (i am French so it's an approximative translation) Note that the application was still working properly.
I have to say that these files haven't start to download because other files where downloading. May be if these have started the behavior of the program might were different. Finally, if i restart the program (like suggested in the pop-up) the problem seem to disappear, but in fact if you right click in these problematic downloads and ask to see details on those files (in French, "informations sur le téléchargement") (actually, it have to show you the download directory) you will get the same behavior. (same warning pop-up, and each time you restart the program and try to get the details on the file you will get the same error)
May be, in this case you have to rewrite a part of the code to tell the program to auto-save those files in a "hard coded" directory like C:\users\XXX\Desktop\FreeRapid DL\
Just wanted to help. Greetings to the programmers.
Bye

Add another filter views into main menu Something like this:

I am opened to discussion how the filters should be applied...
